Five things
1. Peonies on the bedside table. Pretty to wake up to, and they make my room smell like the tropics.
2. Finally finding a replacement for my beloved, recently be-shredded grey hoodie (kitties, I’m looking at you…).
3. New kitty halter and kitty leash. So Enks and I can read on the porch together (ok, one of us will read, one will chew on grass) and there will be no repeat chase through the neighborhood incident. Those straps are strong!
4. Dinner with my daddy tonight, before he leaves on a weeklong yoga instructor retreat. I talk more with my mom than I do with my dad, but I am much more my father’s dauther than I am my mom’s. We’re both quiet and contemplative, we both value our families over most everything else, and we’re both searchers—we try different things, we question, we wonder. This workshop is his first step into becoming a certified instructor, and I am so proud of him.
5. Turning over the idea of leaps of faith. Learning to ask and believe, to take the long view and look for the good.
