What do you want to do?

I am not one of those people that loves weekends. In fact, I kind of dread them. So much unstructured time, so many opportunities to do so many different things, and an equal number of opportunities to feel bad about not doing what I don’t get to. I find them overwhelming.

To combat this, I usually end up making lists of things to get done—cleaning, work projects, chores. And that’s ok, as it gives me some structure, but often it just makes weekends feel even ickier, which is so not the point.

So, around several loosely planned plans, this weekend I’m committing to doing what I want to do.

Things that need to be done:

  • continue cleaning my room
  • returns and target run
  • pay bills
  • go to the gym
  • see the friends I have plans with

Other than that, the weekend is my oyster. Feel like watching TV in the morning? Ok! Want to cook yourself a fancy dinner? Do it! Feel the need to haul wheelbarrows full of mulch? Be my guest. The only rules are to not feel guilty for enjoying myself.
